We’re excited to announce the next Club Night Club, coming up fast on March 25th. We are back - for perhaps the last time ever - at our favorite haunt Sugar Hill! For the occasion we have three heavy hitters flying in from the UK to create a lineup we couldn’t be more excited about. Some old friends, some new faces, all three artists we deeply respect and feel honored to showcase in CNC style!

First up: returning to the controls at Sugar Hill once again is Jon K. The MAL Recordings/Trilogy Tapes affiliate is back in New York for the first time since his last CNC appearance in September of 2021. The now-infamous set ‘Live At Sugar Hill’ was released on tape last year and chosen as one of RA’s mixes of the year for 2022. Those in attendance last time will be acquainted with his trademark blend of loopy n’ percussive alongside hypnotic and dubbed out club music. What better way to get to know than giving his last CNC outing a listen.

He’s joined this time by his partner in crime and fellow label boss Elle Andrews. The pair co-run Mal Recordings, an outlet reflective of the dubbed out wonky sonics the two are known for as DJs. In addition to her work running the label she’s one half of London duo SOUVENIR, whose killer TTT tape from last year was a CNC must-listen.

Our third guest will have to remain a secret for now ;) Someone we’re excited to finally get out for the first time.

CNC is over the moon to be holding things down at Brooklyn’s oldest nightlife watering hole for a night of weirdo dance music.

We’ve enlisted the help of Pent and Yumi, two of NYC’s finest to get your Friday moving. Both should be extremely familiar to local heads, but for anyone unfamiliar - get to know!

Returning to CNC for what’s sure to be another mind-bending live set is Pent, kicking off peak time. Regulars will remember her last live outing for us at Sugar Hill in 2022, rumor has it that this one is gonna be extra devious… expect some wild, broken club sonics in a dancefloor focused live outing!

Next we have a CNC debut from Yumi, whose sound we can’t get enough of. By now many should be familiar with her trademark deployment of wonky club jams, the live recording of her debut Nowadays is particularly sick and well worth a listen if you haven’t checked it.

For once not rushing around running the show, you’ve got CNC co-parents Significant Other and Only Child making a rare appearance behind the decks. Bookending the night with solo sets to deploy some tunes reflective of the party’s sound.

Bossa is a venue very close to our hearts, and after a few years it’s wonderful to be back with a crew of local artists we love. We hope to see all our cnc regulars in the place, let’s make it a memorable one!

CNC 4 Year Anniversary

Club Night Club is excited to announce our first event of 2023, one which will perhaps be our largest yet. On February the 11th we are celebrating 4 whole years of CNC! A milestone which we are extremely proud and grateful to have reached.

To mark the occasion we aren’t pulling any punches with this one. Longtime followers of the party will understand how special it is for us to be welcoming none other than Hessle Audio for an all-night takeover to kick off the festivities. As a series which began 4 years ago with the intention of showcasing leftfield/broken sounds in NYC style, the Hessle boys have been an influence since day one. With their 15th birthday just gone by, it seemed fitting to double up the celebrations, bringing the enormously influential London trio out to Brooklyn to ring in 4 years of CNC and 15 of Hessle!

Expect something unique for this one, including a 17,000 square foot warehouse in South Brooklyn awaits you. (Please be ready to travel for this one) We’ve got the Hessle Audio trio holding down the system all night from start to finish, and we’re going late. Ben UFO B2B Pearson Sound B2B Pangaea all night baby. Some more surprises are still to be announced a little closer to the date… but for now, let’s get it! This is gonna be the biggest n baddest CNC you have ever seen…

We want to give a huge thank you to all of our regular attendees who show up time and time again and help us do what we do. CNC is the sum of its participants, and we feel immensely grateful for the family which has grown over the last four years. It’s a labor of love, one that can be brutal at times, but with such a special crew of regulars chopping it up everytime, it’s always worth it.

Here’s to another 4 years!

CNC Halloween: Nkisi, Emma DJ, Mosca

You know what month it is, you know what’s happening.

We’re back for the most unhinged weekend of the year in New York City. This may be our wildest yet..

Club Night Club Halloween: Nkisi, Mosca, Emma dj

Please note - the location for this event has been updated. Address will be sent to ticket holders only on the day of the event.

That’s right, CNC Halloween is going down on October the 29th. Prepare for some true demon-mode late night rave energy. To help us celebrate we’ve enlisted the help of three artists we have wanted to host for a long time: Nkisi, Mosca and emma dj. All three heavyweights with their own distinctive styles, converging on the big apple for a night of the spookiest hedonism.

Topping the bill we have Nkisi rocking the peak time slot.

A powerful voice in the underground for the past decade, known for the fierce and unique sound she has crafted over the years. Her productions and DJ sets alike fuse African polyrhythmic club energy with Euro hard dance flavor, the result being a plosive yet emotional total sensory bombardment.

The London-based musician and visual artist is also one of the co-founders of NON Worldwide, a collective of experimental artists from across the African diaspora. Nkisi is an artist we have wanted to book for years and Halloween seemed like the perfect pairing. Hope you are as excited as we are for whatever madness awaits.
Next up, the one and only Mosca.

A name that should be familiar to anyone who has ever owned a usb, or perhaps just to anyone who has ever had ears. Maybe one of the most consistently brilliant producers in the game, creator of some of the past decade’s most intelligent and innovative club joints. We are super excited to have coerced the notoriously elusive selector away from the studio and onto the decks just for the occasion! Make sure to check his regular NTS slot!

Wrapping things up is Parisian bad boy emma dj. The UIQ/BFDM affiliate has gained well-deserved attention over the past few years for his demonic power electronics. Following up on his 2019 album for UIQ, this summer his latest full length ‘Melon Siesto’ LP dropped on L.I.E.S. Much like his live sets, the album is a warped machine-noise onslaught of the most deranged kind.

We couldn’t think of anyone better to call up for closing duties on an unhinged CNC Halloween ;)

Head on down on Saturday the 29th for what we think is gonna be our most evil Halloween to date…
We can’t wait to see you back on the floor in costume, this one’s gonna be wild.

See you soon!
Peace and love,
CNC xx

CNC is excited to announce that after a little summer break we are back on August 27th with something slightly different. As New York starts to cool off at last we have an anonymous crew of international superstars descending on Sugar Hill for a long night of fun.

You know the drill. Full rig up and running with four point sound. The whole family working. Sugar Hill sunrise. We couldn’t be more excited to be back!

Come enjoy the last of the warm summer’s nights with a mystery lineup of heavyweights at the controls. Who’s gonna be there? Only one way to find out ;)

Yes yes, Club Night Club is back again on the 28th of May.

CNC Presents: Re:ni, Forest Drive West, Pessimist.

Heads up! This event is going to be our last party for a month or two as we take some time off for summer. Don’t worry though, we’re using the break to line up some naughty warehouse stuff for early fall. Be sure to catch this last banger at Sugar Hill, it’ll be the final CNC for a short while! To close the season out in style we have an all star cast of heavy hitters coming to town… don’t sleep.

Lineup & Info:

Back behind the decks is London’s Re:ni. Her first time back at CNC since 2018 - wow! One of the most technically advanced and conceptually devious artists in the game right now, co-host of the Re:Lax party series and NTS show alongside Laksa. A fierce producer in her own right (check her wicked new 12” on Ilian Tape), she’s back in the big city to do some damage.

Hard to pick a favorite mix, but check out a lethal contribution to the Dekmantel mix series here:
https://soundcloud.com/dkmntl/dekmantel-podcast-253-reni?in=renildn/sets/podcasts-mixes

Next up - a CNC debut: Forest Drive West. Another Londoner is headed this way in May, preceded only by his glowing reputation. Perhaps one of the most unanimously respected producers of the last few years, just about every DJ in the world has one of his creations loaded onto the stick. Since 2016 the Hidden Hawaii/Livity Sound regular has garnered a loyal following for his relentlessly consistent export of heady and hypnotic club music. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome him in true CNC style!

Check out an extremely norty recent mix here for the Ilian Tape series here:
https://soundcloud.com/ilian-tape/itps068-forest-drive-west?in=forest-drive-west/sets/mixes

Last but most certainly not least, our old friend Pessimist is back in town. CNC regulars will remember his last time in the states, crushing what turned out to be our last party before Covid in May 2020. You can find the live recording here:
https://soundcloud.com/clubnightclub/pessimist?in=pessimist/sets/mixes

Like FDW he’s another UK producer who somehow achieves the impossible balance of being equally talented in both the studio and behind the decks. The recording of his last CNC outing was possibly one of the most popular live sets we’ve dropped to date. Get ready to feel those subs pushed to the limit by one of the most exciting Drum and Bass veterans in the scene.

Come down for our last show for a little while, you won’t regret it ;)

Finally, Club Night Club operates a zero tolerance policy for harassment of any kind - please be respectful of fellow dancers, and do nothing to stop anyone having a pleasant, dance-filled evening.

See u soon :)

Peace and love!!

Kicking things off we have an early live set from Pent. A friendly face for many years in the local scene and someone we have been dying to see perform on the big system for a long time. Many will have been lucky enough to catch their haunting set at the Sustain Release last year, a masterclass in tonal tension and synthetic beauty. Get down early to experience something truly special!

Check out these extracts from some madness in the woods of upstate New York for a taste of what is to come (and support an incredible artist while you’re at it!): https://pent3.bandcamp.com/album/pent-live

Topping the bill is the one and only Bruce. Our old friend is back from across the pond to do his thing. Through a long-standing commitment to the weirdest and wonkiest of sounds the Hessle Audio/Timedance regular has sustained a lengthy career in dance floor duties, consistently operating at the fringes of what club music can be. He is known in both his productions and sets alike for a characteristic defiance of any predictable formula. A master of fragmentation and subversion, some tracks shudder and pummel with plosive industrial power. Others veer towards the ephemeral, the melodic and tonal teasing out space for late night introspection.

Get ready to be (lovingly!) put through your paces with one of the best in the game back at the controls.

Check an instant-classic RA mix here: https://soundcloud.com/resident-advisor/ra651-bruce

Last month’s Truants session comes highly recommended too! https://soundcloud.com/truants/truancy-volume-289-bruce

Next up a Club Night Club debut - the one and only PLO Man! Someone who we’ve been trying to showcase in CNC style for a long time. Junglist sub workouts, emotive housey goodness, Swamp-era funk - who knows what it’s gonna be? Only one way to find out though ;) Preceded by his well deserved reputation as a certified head, we couldn’t be more excited to see what the elusive Acting Press boss is gonna pull out of his bag next month.

Check out a classic Beats In Space Session from 2019 here: https://soundcloud.com/timsweeney/ploman2019

Last and most certainly not least, we are delighted to be hosting London-based Flora Yin-Wong back to NY. The mind behind some of the most innovative sound design pressed to vinyl in recent years (her outstanding Modern Love record is one to check if unfamiliar), a lineage can be traced between her renegade attitude towards production and the chaotic power unleashed in her DJ sets. Get ready for something special with the PAN affiliate running the show!

Definitely check out both this firestarter Fact Mix and RA podcast ahead of the 7th if unfamiliar: https://soundcloud.com/factmag/fact-mix-809-flora-yin-wong-may-21 https://soundcloud.com/resident-advisor/ra777-flora-yin-wong

Tickets are now available on Resident Advisor via the link below. There will be a limited number of tickets on the door, but we would urge you not to sleep on the presale. Again, we expect this event to sell out and would urge you to grab a ticket asap if you want to secure entry to the party. The final release tickets for our last event were a little pricey. Throwing the kind of events we do we have to adjust ticket pricing according to the costs of each party. Rest assured, wherever we can we seek to keep our events as affordable as possible for all attendees, and for this one tickets are gonna be significantly cheaper than the last.

We’re back in the dance April 2nd! Once again we’re bringing out some of Europe’s biggest and brightest for another all night session in one of Brooklyn’s oldest nightlife institutions. This time we’re over the moon to be representing one of our favorite labels, with a posse of France’s BFDM affiliates flying out for the event alongside some prime UK talent.

First up: our old friend Simo Cell is back in town. CNC regulars will fondly remember his last appearance for us at a spooky Halloween warehouse in 2019. His long (covid) delayed return is here, and we couldn’t be more excited to have one of the best in the game back behind the decks! The Livity Sound/BFDM affiliate has garnered a loyal following over the past half decade for his abilities in both the studio and the club. An artist whose discography speaks for itself, professional sine wave sculptor and wheel-back spinner - Simo doesn’t need much introduction. Get ready to see him in full force back at CNC. Check out a recent Dekmantel Selectors mix here: https://soundcloud.com/dkmntl/simo-cell-at-dekmantel-selectors-2021?in=simocell/sets/mixes-dj-set

Up next we’re delighted to be hosting Ehua for her North America debut . Another talented producer/DJ with a focus on the percussive and a key player within London’s Nervous Horizon crew (shouts to TSVI and Wallwork). Expect a real system workout from one of our UK favorites, get ready to move. Those unfamiliar should check out her drum heavy RA mix from last year here, a real favorite of ours from 2021: https://soundcloud.com/resident-advisor/ra788-ehua?in=ehuamusic/sets/mixes

Another man of the drums - Toma Kami is up next. The Man Band/Livity Sound regular behind some of the largest, conga heavy club weapons of the past few years coming out of the Bristol scene. A force to be reckoned with behind the decks, expect syncopation, breaks, high energy hypnosis. Check out a CNC favorite - a terrific Crack Mix from a few years back showcasing Toma’s talents: https://soundcloud.com/crackmagazine/crack-mix-334-toma-kami?in=toma-kami/sets/recordings

As if the bill wasn’t already stacked enough, rounding things off we have BFDM daddy Judaah here to seal the deal. The brains behind one of Europe’s most influential collectives (alongside OKO DJ) and wicked curator in his own right, the system music pro is here to test out the CNC subs. Check out a tasty TRAX MAGAZINE mix here: https://soundcloud.com/trax-magazine/trax413-judaah

Tickets are now available on Resident Advisor via the link below. There will be a limited number of tickets on the door, but we would urge you not to sleep on the presale. Your best way to secure entry to the party is with a ticket.

It’s celebration time! We’re back next month for another session at Sugar Hill, an important night for us - celebrating 3 whole years of Club Night Club!. Please join us in marking the milestone in true CNC style; with an all star lineup of old friends flying in for a big one. Back at our favorite venue in New York City, the iconic Sugar Hill Supper Club, get ready for a multi-room blow out going late into the night, with a couple of very special surprises planned... We hope to see all of the lovely humans who have supported us over the years together on the dancefloor - this is going to be a special one.

Tickets are live now and we expect this to be another sell-out event, so snag them quick before they’re gone! This party was re-scheduled from mid-January ‘cause of Omicron (boo). With the numbers so high in NYC it seemed reckless to go ahead with the event. Due to the re-schedule the lineup has changed a little bit, with certain touring schedules unable to accommodate the switch up. Pariah and Bruce are no longer visiting sadly, but both will be back on a CNC lineup within the year. Despite this, we have lined up some wonderful replacements…

Warming things up we have two hours of CNC co-founder Significant Other setting the pace for the night. Expect some early dubbed out weirdness and broken sonics, getting the room right for our first international visitor of the evening. None other than London’s own Metrist. We’re mad excited to host the Timedance/Where To Now? affiliate’s North American debut outing. Known by all heads for his unique weaponization of sound design across production and DJing alike, expect something truly norty and disturbing in equal measure. He is joined in good company on a bill consisting entirely of artists we have been wanting to showcase for a very long time.

Those unfamiliar should check out a demonic Fact Magazine mix from last year here, a real favorite of ours from 2020: https://soundcloud.com/factmag/fact-mix-762-metrist-jun-20

Next up, old friend and Reef mama extraordinaire Darwin is gonna be rocking the main room through peak time. For various pandemic related reasons, this will actually be her CNC debut! Despite it being her first time playing the party, she’s an old friend (who actually released Significant Other’s first ever record) and it seemed fitting to get her over for a family affair! Another DJ with a prolific party rocker record, Darwin is also an artist with her roots firmly planted in UK dance music. Her sets incorporate various influences that span Dubstep, Bass, Breakbeat, and showcase a lifelong commitment to the craft. Expect major sub bass punishment.

Check out her recent Dekmantel mix here: https://soundcloud.com/dkmntl/dekmantel-podcast-351-darwin

For the sake of fun, our final guest is gonna remain a secret until the night of the party. Closing out the show we have a veeeeery special guest coming to town, someone we have been waiting to host for as long as CNC has been running. Rest assured, our mystery guest is a titan in the world of sound Club Night Club has tried to push in Brooklyn since day one, and we are over the moon to have this surprise in store for attendees…

This event is very meaningful for us. We feel incredibly blessed to have such a great crowd who return time and time again for Club Night Club. Throwing parties is a lot of work, but with such a lovely community behind us, it is always a pleasure. Thank you for three years, and here’s to many more!

Club Night Club is excited to return after the holiday season with quite a naughty event next month! Our first party of 2022 will be on the 5th of February, returning once again to the iconic Sugar Hill Supper Club in Bed-Stuy.

Kicking off the new year in style we’re over the moon to be hosting an all night back to back from none other than Objekt and Ben UFO.

Neither DJ requires an introduction, both artists preceded by their formidable reputations. Regulars will remember Ben’s peak time set at our first (and probably most unhinged) party back after covid in that Red Hook warehouse. We stoked to have him behind the decks again so soon. For this month’s event he is joined in the booth by the one and only Objekt, coming all the way from Berlin for the occasion. The two are certified legends respectively, now’s your chance to see what the pair come up with in their first ever all night B2B in Brooklyn.

The lineup speaks for itself here: two titans of contemporary dance music shelling it all night in a historic Brooklyn venue, let’s get it!

Tickets are now available on Resident Advisor via the link below. There will be a very limited amount of tickets on the door, but we would urge you not to sleep on the presale! We expect this event to sell out and would urge you to grab a ticket asap if you want to secure entry.

Big one alert! CNC is back on the 5th of November with an allstar cast of returning and new selectors. We’ve been working for a long time on getting some of our UK-based favorites back to Brooklyn, and this month we’re delighted to welcome back both TSVI and Ploy. Neither artist needs much introduction, and returning guests will most likely have seen them do the thing at CNC before. Paired with some phenomenal artists from closer to home, this isn’t gonna be one to miss...

Ploy crushed our Halloween party back in 2019 (that one.. in the basement), and almost exactly two years later he’s back to rock the system once again. Fresh off the heels of his seminal debut LP on L.I.E.S, the Hessle Audio affiliate and Timedance mainstay is crossing the Atlantic armed with a usb full of the good stuff. He’s gonna be holding down the sunrise slot this month, doing it warehouse style till dawn. You can check out the recording from his last visit here - a very special night:

https://soundcloud.com/clubnightclub/ploy

Across the aisle is another returning friend, the one and only TSVI. Anyone who’s touched a CDJ in the last few years has probably also loaded up one of his tracks. Whether behind the booth or in the studio anything our boy touches turns into something magical. The percussive alchemist and Nervous Horizon label boss is back to play CNC again for the first time since the pandemic - a uniquely talented artist and friend, we couldn’t be more excited to have him take control of the system once more!

You can check a recent Dekmantel mix here:

https://soundcloud.com/dkmntl/dekmantel-podcast-340-tsvi

Next up we have Brooklyn’s own Beta Librae. The Incienso/Allergy Season affiliate is a certified jewel in the crown of New York dance music, and is returning to play CNC - the first time was our second ever event way back in the day ! Locals will be familiar with her unique blend of hypnotic club selections, anyone unfamiliar is in for a treat.

Check out an ethereal Dekmantel mix from 2019 here:

https://soundcloud.com/dkmntl/dekmantel-podcast-213-beta-librae

Kicking things off we have local hero DJ Healthy on board to set the tone for the night ahead. An undisputed gem of both a DJ as well as a human being, Masa is on deck to get the party started, one of the best to do it representing Brooklyn in the dance.

https://soundcloud.com/vowel_rec/dj-healthy-kyrunkyrun

Rumor has it that one or both of the CNC founders Significant Other and Only Child are gonna make an appearance in the late hours… only one way to know for sure ;)

Bushwick warehouse location, going till 8, no bullshit, no shutdown.

Specific information regarding the event will be sent to ticket holders and those who have RSVP’d. Tickets are now available on Resident Advisor via the link above. There will be a limited amount of tickets on the door, but we would urge you not to sleep on the presale! Greetings family.

We’re excited to announce the full lineup and info for our first event of the Fall season! We’re taking over Sugar Hill Supper Club with one of our biggest lineups to date. Expect a late night party with a range of local and international talents coming through to soundtrack your night! We also have exciting news: over the last few months we have expanded our sound system; get ready to hear it like you’ve never heard it before!

Touching down from far away is Manchester’s own Jon K. The Peking Spring/Trilogy Tapes affiliate has long been on our list of dream bookings, and we’re over the moon to be able to bring him over to the states for a big one. Those familiar will be aware of his infamous blend of the loopy and percussive with the more hypnotic end of the club music spectrum. Equally content warming up a room or guiding it through peak time, on the 25th you’ll get to know a CNC favorite!

Also holding us down for the later hours, the long awaited CNC debut of EEA, aka M.E.S.H. aka Hesaitix. As a producer his discography speaks for itself, with some of the most impactful productions of the past decade under his belt, behind the decks he’s an equally powerful force to be reckoned with. Alongside this roster of talent, the CNC founders Significant Other & Only Child are finally gonna deliver some prime time content. Usually we’re both so busy rushing around putting out fires to even think about jumping on the decks, but in the capable hands of Sugar Hill we’re both looking forward to firing up the usbs and showing you some fine music. Some exciting news from Sig O this week too…

For this party, all the usual rules apply. Info will be sent out to ticket holders and we always urge attendees to re-familiarize themselves with the party guidelines.

Peace and love!!

As summer draws to a close we are back with another all night affair. Pulling no punches with this one; warehouse location, extra sound on deck 😉😉, going strong till 8am. Previous guests can expect the usual service, and for anyone attending who hasn’t come before - welcome!

For this party we’ve enlisted the services of various talented music makers and couldn’t be happier to close out the summer season with this team at the reins!

Kicking things off we have a ferocious pairing: Akanbi and DJ Voices. Both are formidable DJ’s in their own right, and anyone who’s seen them go back to back before knows full well the beautiful fusion created by the meeting of these two minds. Both have previously played CNC solo, and now we’re lucky enough to see what they can cook up in the booth together!

Peep one or two of their many delicious solo mixes here:

https://soundcloud.com/truants/truancy-volume-254-dj-voices?in=latenitesbookclub/sets/2019-mixes

https://soundcloud.com/waxtreatment/podcast-056?in=andrewakanbi/sets/akanbi-mixes

Another returning friend is local superstar Hank Jackson. The Anno records boss is back for another closing set - get down to see a quiet legend in the game soundtrack your sunrise moment.

Check out his Truants mix here:

https://soundcloud.com/truants/truancy-volume-258-hank-jackson?in=hjacksonnn/sets/mixes

It wouldn’t be CNC without some international talent joining the team. We’re over the moon to be hosting Berlin’s Dis Fig alongside these dear friends. An artist who over the years has curated a distinctive and personal brand of production and live performance; expect something disturbing and otherworldly in equal measure to transpire. Fresh off her latest collaboration with The Bug for Hyperdub, we are extremely excited to see what madness the PTP affiliate will serve up in a warehouse setting.

Check out her contribution to the Mixmag series as well as a recent mix for Hör radio here:

https://soundcloud.com/mixmag-1/impact-dis-fig?in=dis_fig/sets/mixes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8pZImFGrFg

As if this wasn’t already enough we have another very special guest coming to visit from out of town. Fuck it - it’s the last party of summer! Miami’s own Nick León touches down to deliver a masterclass in all things percussive. The NAAFI affiliate and producer extraordinaire will be taking charge of the system for late night set - get ready.

You can listen to his recent Untitled 909 transmission here:

https://soundcloud.com/untitled909/untitled-909-podcast-nick-leon?in=nickleon/sets/mixes

Finally - we have a long overdue taste of the Club Night Club co-founders: Significant Other and Only Child. Typically too busy rushing around putting out fires to hop on the decks, for once both artists are gonna tap out of running the show here and there to play solo sets throughout the night! Expect both to rock the system with statements of intent, showcasing the roots of Club Night Club and why we do it!

A few guidelines and general rules:

Specific information regarding the event will be sent to ticket holders and those who have RSVP’d. Tickets are now available on Resident Advisor via the link above. There will be a limited amount of tickets on the door, but we would urge you not to sleep on the presale! We expect this event to reach capacity very quickly and would urge you to grab a ticket asap if you want to come. Also in an effort to provide a comfortable experience for everyone, be prepared to show proof of vaccination at the door or a negative covid test. Excelsior app, physical vax cards, and photos of vax cards will be accepted.

Finally, Club Night Club operates a zero tolerance policy for harassment of any kind - please be respectful of fellow dancers, and do nothing to stop anyone having a pleasant, dance-filled evening.

Phew, welcome back gang! Club Night Club is over the moon to announce our first rave back since the pandemic began. On the 23rd of July we are hitting it hard with an all night affair in a veeery special, previously unused location. Previous guests can expect the usual service, and for anyone attending who hasn’t come before - welcome! On music duties we have an all star cast of rave veterans who are gonna keep you moving right until it ends, both new guests and old friends returning.

Kicking things off we have party favorite SHYBOI taking the reins once again. Locals will be familiar with her trademark brand of dancefloor destruction. Managing to somehow blend the soulful and the sinister into a mutated, truly rave listening experience, we couldn’t be more excited to have one of our fav local talents back to crush it again. Those who attended our Halloween party in 2019 will remember that iconic closing set.

Check out her naughty Unsound podcast here

Next up we have a reputation-preceded Aurora Halal. The Sustain Release and Mutual Dreaming founder, known around the world for her unique deployment of the ethereal and hypnotic, we can’t wait to welcome a true juggernaut of the scene to the party for the first time!

Check out a recent gem released on tape via EOS Radio here.

After much speculation we are excited to announce that our mystery guest is none other than Ben UFO. Little introduction is needed here, but for those who have followed Club Night Club for a long time it will make sense that hosting the Hessle co-founder and certified rave veteran is an enormous honor for us. Like many, we cut our teeth on Hessle Audio, and to see Ben work his magic inside a one of a kind space for our first event back in the game is gonna be real special!

A few guidelines and general rules:

Specific information regarding the event will be sent to ticket holders and those who have RSVP’d. Tickets are now available on Resident Advisor via the link above. There will be a limited amount of tickets on the door, but we would urge you not to sleep on the presale! Despite being a large-capacity party, we expect this event to sell out very quickly and would urge you to grab a ticket asap if you want to come.

This weekend we’re belatedly celebrating two whole years of club night club While the last year has been tough and in normal circumstances we’d love to be throwing a fuck off rave to mark the occasion, we’re taking over the lot radio this Saturday to celebrate.

We have a tasty four hour show featuring former guests and friends of the party. Including:

Slink resident rrao Anno Recs boss Hank b2b James K (whose mental new AD93 release you can check here: https://jameskmusic.bandcamp.com/album/036 )

Plus head honchos Significant Other and Only Child closing things out back to back. Come through or tune in from 6-10pm New York time and listen to some murky tunes in the sun!

We’ll have a few of the remaining copies of Herron’s Lowflow EP (CNC001) on hand for anyone who wants to grip one.

You know the drill by now - We're over the moon to announce our first all night rave in the roaring twenties. Four killer DJ's, nine hours of programming, the now infamous CNC system, secret warehouse location.

Topping the bill we have CNC favorite, Hessle boy Bruce. Riding the tails of his beautiful 'Sonder Somatic' LP from last year, you'd be hard pressed to find an artist who exemplifies the coalescence of tension and release into one more. His sets and productions alike tease out the introspective, without ever straying from their dance music foundation. Get ready to sweat, be confused at points, possibly hug someone, and above all get to see a world class artist play outside the confines of a club setting.

Lovely taster via RA below:
https://soundcloud.com/resident-advisor/ra651-bruce

Next up, Parris . His sets, like his productions, harness low end in a really special way. Wizard of sub bass, he's perfected the art of the dubbed out, textural, hypnotic production (CNC recommends his Trilogy Tapes EP from 2 years back: https://soundcloud.com/parris_dj/sets/parris-2-vultures-ep-ttt064). The silver lining for party members who's spines now resemble crinkle fries, is that by carrying subs the size of fridges across the five boroughs once a month, we get to hear subby tracks that we love as they were intended to be heard, and so do you!

Check his delicious fact mix here:
https://soundcloud.com/factmag/fact-mix-704-parris-apr-19

Keeping you going through the night we have an artist who seriously embodies the warehouse he's gonna be playing in.

Pessimist returns to Brooklyn for another outing of sinister tones, drum n bass, general eeriness and breaks in abundance. Get ready, this one's gonna comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.

(CNC Recommends: Boreal Massif, the new collaboration between Pessimist and Loop Faction : https://soundcloud.com/pessimist/boreal-massif-we-all-have-an-impact-lp-album-preview-pessimist-productions )

Check his Ilian Tape mix here:
https://soundcloud.com/ilian-tape/ilian-tape-podcast-series-022-pessimist?in=pessimist%2Fsets%2Fradio-mixes-podcasts

It wouldn't be right to have all these guests without a taste of Brooklyn on deck - and we're excited to have one of the realest bring us into the early morning DJ Voices - damn hard to know where to start here. If you're a local you've no doubt already had your jaw drop a few times in her presence, if you're a new comer, get ready to see something very special. As versatile a DJ as they come, who knows what our soundtrack for sunrise will be... only one way to find out though!

UPDATE!

WE ARE NOW SOLD OUT OF PRESALE. PLEASE EMAIL INFO@CLUBNIGHTCLUB.COM DIRECTLY TO GET ADDRESS.

COME AT 11PM OR 4-5PM TO GET TICKETS AT THE DOOR

Closing out 2019 we have invited some very special guests from near and far to rock a very special space that previous dancers will be all too familiar with. It's been a wonderful year for us here at Club Night Club - we'd love to see old faces for one last dance before entering 2020 - come get down with a serious crew!

Warming things up we have Brooklyn's own DJ'J. Label boss over at Incienso and familiar face front right in the dance. We're excited to have some choice selections to set the tone for the long night ahead from a serious head.

Topping the bill we've got Livity Sound regular Hodge. Little introduction needed for this badboy - prolific producer and connoisseur of Bristol techno, DJ extraordinaire, we're excited to see what he has in store for us in the headliner slot.

Next up, Different Circles's own Logos. Label boss with Mumdance and pioneer in his own right of the crisp, weightless sound the pair have been pushing for years now.

Who knows what to expect - a course in minimalist, low end, grime inspired tones? fierce breaks? Either way it'll be on a rack of eight custom subs.

In that same vein, returning to Brooklyn is an old friend: CHEVEL. Recently compared to the next Aphex Twin - Chevel made the leap from a background in techno, sidestepping into the weightless genre after a series of heady releases on labels such as Stroboscopic Artefacts. The result led to 2018's 'Always Yours' LP, a tough and tender course in sound design built for big systems.

Finally, closing out a long night of varied sound, who better to do so than naano tani vs. baitong~xystemes. Hyph Stems crew member, expect the unexpected, from a sick DJ who we've followed for some time.

This event is taking place in a very special space that Club Night Club regulars will be familiar with. Tickets available now. You know the drill.

We look forward to seeing you in the dance ❤️

Time to get spooky yo!

To celebrate everyone's favorite holiday season we've invited some freaks from out of town to bring the heat from start to finish. This one's gonna get heavy.

Top of the bill is Solid Blake, Glaswegian sensation now based in Copenhagen, over in the states for the first time. Expect hard hitting electro, ethereal rave tracks, and squelchy bass in abundance. Some eyes closed legs gone, proper work out grooves are in store.

Up next, with little introduction needed, BFDM affiliate, Livity boy, bassline wizard, Simo Cell is back in town. Locals still speak in hushed tones of his Friday night closing set at Sustain Release two years back, prepare for a psychedelic immersion into the science of low frequency wobblers.

We're super stoked to have another guest over from the Europe; Hessle/Timedance's own Ploy. Originally scheduled to play our last late night event, we couldn't be more excited to have him on board for this one! A force behind the decks, ever intrigued by the drum, get ready for some tender and tough cuts from one of London's finest.

It wouldn't be a proper party without some OG local talent on the bill. Returning to CNC we have SHYBOI - she crushed it at our first party, so much so, it seemed appropriate to get her back for another round of percussive punishment. This is one for the freaks.

Last but certainly not least, we've got Jonas Yamer over to set the tone for the evening with another US debut. Label boss over at Molten Moods, his sets are as diverse as the label he runs; who knows where he'll take us as he opens up the floor for a long night of fog, friends, fun and above all, filthy tunes.

A few guidelines, general rules, and info based off our last late night event:

Specific information regarding the event will be sent to ticket holders and those who have RSVP’d. Tickets are now available on Resident Advisor via the link below.

As with all of our events, we try to provide an intimate space in which our artists can be enjoyed and appreciated to the fullest extent possible. A large component of this is utilizing lower capacity spaces, as such while there will be a limited amount of tickets on the door, we would urge you not to sleep on the presale!

Finally, and most importantly, Club Night Club upholds a strict, zero tolerance policy for any behavior detrimental to any other individual's ability to exercise their fundamental right to dance in peace, free from harassment of any kind. Security will be on site to deal with any behavior we feel violates this. Please be respectful of anyone, and as ever do nothing to stop anyone from having a pleasant, dance filled evening!

Also cmon it's Halloween, let's see some looks served please.

Chekov has been on something of a roll this last year. CNC spent most of 2018 caning his release on Shanti Celeste's Peach Discs label (get to know if you aren't familiar), his long anticipated 'Stasis 113' finally landed via the Timedance 'Patina Echoes' compilation this year, having been teased in sets for some time by several UK heavyweights. Spectromorphology: explaining sound-shapes

Spectromorphology: explaining sound-shapes

INTRODUCTION

The art of music is no longer limited to the sounding models of instruments and voices. Electroacoustic music opens access to all sounds, a bewildering sonic array ranging from the real to the surreal and beyond. For listeners the traditional links with physi-cal sound-making are frequently ruptured: electro-acoustic sound-shapes and qualities frequently do not indicate known sources and causes. Gone are the familiar articulations of instruments and vocal utter-ance; gone is the stability of note and interval; gone too is the reference of beat and metre. Composers also have problems: how to cut an aesthetic path and discover a stability in a wide-open sound world, how to develop appropriate sound-making methods, how to select technologies and software. How are we to explain and understand electro-acoustic music? Music is not created from nothing. If a group of listeners finds a piece of electroacoustic music ‘rewarding’ it is because there is some shared experiential basis both inside and behind that music. We need to be able to discuss musical experiences, to describe the features we hear and explain how they work in the context of the music.

'Primacy of the Ear'—But Whose Ear?

INTRODUCTION

Sixty years on from Pierre Schaeffers call for primacy of the ear(primauté de loreille), this article asks an ostensibly simple question: whose ear/aural perception is being referred to when we talk of and compose under this guiding principle? Is there a tacit preselected audiometric norm or even a pair of golden ears, at its core? The article will problematise the uncompromising modernist notion espoused by Babbitt of a suitably equipped receptor(Babbitt 1958), and posit examples of well-known composers whose hearing markedly diverged from the otologically normal, an acoustics standard from which A-weighted decibels is predicated (ISO 226:2003). In conclusion the concept of auraldiverse hearing is proposed and creative strategies that eschew or problematise auraltypical archetypes in sonic arts practice and theory wherever they may lie are encouraged.

Ravedeath Convention by Jan Philipzen

Description

Started as a visual diary, ‘Ravedeath Convention’ soon grew into a hybrid of autobiography and fiction. While love, joy and friendship are explored, violence and excess come about too, often captured only as traces and symptoms. A collision of different, occasionally mismatched, cultural symbols stresses the all-embracing blend of subcultures as a fundamental feature of our times.

The first pictures taken at age thirteen, this series of black and white images is the edit of a continuous process of photographing, revisiting and reworking over a span of ten years. In the crippled prints the physical presence of body and photograph merge, celebrating human imperfection. The title references Tim Hecker’s album ‘Ravedeath,1972’.

Signal The Future by Georg Gatsas

Description

Photographer Georg Gatsas’ Signal The Future unpacks many layers of an important musical era in London. Through portraits, candid shots of clubbers, and architectural investigations of the city, a narrative unfolds of how music both shapes and is shaped by its immediate urban environment. Dating from 2008 – shortly after the British club phenomenon of dubstep received international acclaim – we’re introduced to a music scene in the flush of fame. Ethnically diverse, largely working-class, surprisingly close-knit, and a world apart from the country’s acclaimed indie and guitar rock history, the people in this book are united by the city and their love of the music. We glimpse dancers mid-stride, witness their steppers’ communion, and get a sense of their after-hours lives on the empty streets of Brixton in the night.

In a few short years, the tone of electronic music changed and so did the images – becoming brighter, taking place more often outside, and interspersed with the kind of soaring structures that are the hallmark of modernism. The book includes essays by acclaimed writers on music and cultural theory, including the late Mark Fisher, probing deeply into many of the strands that Gatsas visualises: urbanism, community, the ‘underground’, capitalism, networked futurism, gentrification, and more. Anyone not following underground music may be surprised to realise how much is contained within its scope. Gatsas helps bring those complexities alive.

Georg Gatsas is an artist, photographer and freelance journalist based in Zurich, Switzerland. Gatsas uses an interdisciplinary approach to focus on how sound, recollection, and public spaces interact. Recent solo and group exhibitions include Kunstmuseum St.Gallen (2017), Oldenburger Kunstverein (2017), Le Confort Moderne Poitiers (2017), FRAC Nord-Pas de Calais (2015), Museum Bärengasse Zurich (2013), and Kunstraum Riehen (2013). His editorial work has featured in a variety of magazines such as Interview, i-D, Dazed, Beat, Zweikommasieben and Edge.

RAVE by Paul D'Amato - SOLD OUT

Description

Rave, the fourth monograph by Paul D’Amato, brings together previously unpublished photographs made in the early 1990s of the underground music and dance scenes in Chicago, New Orleans, and across New England. D’Amato captured the verve, atmosphere, and rhythm of improvised communities that coalesced around a love of music and movement expressed with imagination and invention. These gatherings, staged often illegally in warehouses and abandoned buildings, cut across the common social divisions of age, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation. D’Amato’s vivid color photographs convey the transcendent joy that exploded from the tightly packed rooms pulsing with electronic music. Comprised of 48 images spread across 12 spiral-bound gatefolds, the book’s kinetic design furthers the explosive energy of D’Amato’s photographs.

CNCTS003 - RELAXER - FORCE FIELD: A GUIDE FOR THE PERPLEXED

Description

Club Night Club is excited to release the next installment in our tape series:

Relaxer - ‘Force Field’ [CNCTS003]

The tape consists of two original longform compositions by the New York based interdisciplinary artist Relaxer, a chameleonic force in the North American underground for the past decade.

With TS003 CNC is honored to be able to showcase a new side to the Relaxer project; a haunting and introspective piece of worldbuilding and linguistic experimentalism.

Coming as a significant deviation from the plosive club productions he is most known for, Force Field is a focused and unsettling work of semiotic introspection, an intimate stygian landscape of silence and texture in equal measure.

Some words from Relaxer below:

Force Field exists in a field of silence and memory. Chords drift on the edge of audibility and decay into emptiness. Memories emerge cryptically from the dark abyss of the unconscious. We travel across continents and decades and to California, Washington DC, Crete, New York, Berlin and into our own vast interiority. This is a music of glowing opacity, meant to be peered into.

The a-side was composed between Oct 2020-May 2021 and premiered at Sustain-Release later that year. Written for piano, voice, organ and computer, it presents a web of harmonies that bloom and collapse into each other in a time-outside-of-time.  The b-side was composed in 2022 as an inversion of the original work. Silence is replaced with glistening, cold surfaces. The supple harmonies are recast as solid, vibrating sheets of sound. The voice is subsumed by intractable, wordless experience. It exists in a frozen time.

Force Field is a major break from my previous work and introduces a new creative lane which runs parallel to my techno productions. These pieces and their as-of-yet unreleased offspring are part of a larger web of sonic exploration, text-based work, spatial sound design, dance performance and voice. They reach back to my roots in punk bands and free improv collectives and look forward to fresh, emerging compositional worlds.

CNCTS002 - JON K - LIVE AT SUGAR HILL - Sold Out

Description

Club Night Club is delighted to present the next installment in its tape series. The follow up to Special Guest DJ’s Acid In The Sky comes in the form of a live recording of Manchester’s Jon K behind the decks at CNC in September 2021.

The term ‘DJ’s DJ’ gets thrown around a lot these days, but if ever there was an artist to truly live up to the label it’s Jon. A veteran in the booth, active since the late nineties, all round lovely human and one of the most respected in the game. The 90 minute cassette recorded live on a late summer’s eve last year showcases his dedication to the craft. A high energy soundsystem tribute that captures the energy in the room as something special took place.
